Hello out there, world!
A few updates...
It's been the rainiest last few weeks EVER. I mean, seriously. The sun will be shining and you'll be lulled into this sense that maybe we'll get to bask ourselves in that sweet, sweet warmth. But no. The clouds gather and it'll deluge. Again. I feel very Jane Austen-esque talking about the weather this way. It's not like rainy, muddy roads will impede my carriage travel to Netherfield.
School's out for the summer! Leisurely mornings, guilt-free late nights of Netflix-watching, and allowing myself to dream whilst sitting on the futon (ahem, like right now). One of the most frequently asked question is, "so, what're you going to do this summer?" My response, "this" or "living and loving life". It's pretty uncomplicated. I'm hoping for something called "active rest". I will not be working/making money, but I don't want it to be 2 1/2 months of slothful inactivity.
Active rest = intentional restoration and being able to carve out time to reflect, write, draw, meet with friends, be quiet, read, exercise, sleep, clean, organize, run errands, talk on the phone, pay bills, emote, etc.
So, I think that's it for now. There are a few more things swimming around in my head, but I'll leave it with this quote that I want to ponder: "Abba, I belong to You". It's from Brennan Manning's book The Furious Longing of God. Each morning, what if I repeated this to myself? Abba, I belong to You.
